The Russians Are Coming
Jeff Nyquist writes of another impending war on the horizon (h/t New Zeal).
The tie that binds is pure unbiased anti-Americanism.
People living a hundred years from now will be puzzled by today’s America. The signs of impending destructive war are everywhere. We do not see the signs because we do not want to see them. This is true in the White House, at the CIA, in the major newspapers and within major corporations. Russia and China are maneuvering against the United States on all fronts. Russia and China are supporting Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, North Korea, Syria, etc. All the worst regimes, led by criminals and butchers, are supported by Moscow and Beijing. The objective is to arm as many rogue states as possible. And the reason for doing so is transparent.
A researcher and former news editor wrote the following note to me last week: "Russia has been conducting war in Chechnya for years, slaughtering, raping, imprisoning and displacing Muslims. Russia slaughtered Muslims for ten years in Afghanistan. Russia is 'right next door' [to the terrorists]. Yet bin Laden, allegedly tired of what has been done to Muslim peoples, chose to attack... the United States. Bin Laden ignores the enemy who has been slaughtering Muslims in his backyard for two decades and instead targets a nation thousands of miles away..."
The tie that binds is pure unbiased anti-Americanism.

Canada Getting Screwed By Russia
Russia seems to think that NATO is a greater threat than international terrorism (link).
All of this after we've been deporting Russian spies. And in completely unrelated news, Canada is allowing Russia free reign of its skies (link).
In a statement posted on its website, Russia's powerful Security Council said it no longer considered global terrorism to be its biggest danger. Instead, Russia was developing a new national security strategy that reflected changing "geo-political" realities, and the fact that rival military alliances were becoming "stronger" - "especially NATO".

A Russian aircraft carrying 28 Russian military officials will arrive in 8 Wing Trenton today and is scheduled to conduct an aerial observation mission under the Treaty on Open Skies on Thursday, March 8 and Friday March 9, 2007.
The Tupolev 154M aircraft will be accorded unimpeded overflight of Canadian territory in order to observe and verify objects of interest, including military installations, industrial complexes, population centres and transportation facilities.

Back To The Union
The Soviets haven't given up yet. From my man at New Zeal.
It's too bad for the Communists that half of the former Soviet Union is thriving and would have to be dragged back kicking and screaming... not that the Communists would have any problem with that.
Russian Communists urged Saturday the Communist parties of ex-Soviet states to join their efforts to restore the former Soviet Union.
Communist leaders from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia and other ex-Soviet republics gathered Saturday in the Russian capital to discuss the strengthening of future cooperation and the development of a common strategy to re-unite the former members of the now-defunct Soviet Union.
It's too bad for the Communists that half of the former Soviet Union is thriving and would have to be dragged back kicking and screaming... not that the Communists would have any problem with that.
