News site WinnipegFIRST.ca announced today that they are suspending operations.

From the sounds of things the ad revenue just wasn't there to keep such a large staff. The site and content will apparently remain online however.

This turn of events really is unfortunate. The site hadn't been around long, but the content that they have posted has been excellent. Not only do they have better local news content online than any other source, they were always the fastest to post breaking news.

I suspect that John White will find the funding he needs in short order. The idea is great, the site is fantastic, and the content is the best in Winnipeg. If anybody knows any potential investors and/or advertisers they should contact John White.
