Climate Cure: Destroy The Pines
Brit Hume (h/t):
Saving the environment by destroying it.
The latest threat to planet Earth via climate change has been identified as - all those darn pine trees.
A National Academy of Sciences report says the pine forests of Europe, Siberia and Canada may contribute to global warming because they trap sunlight reflected from snow - making the Earth warmer.
Conventional wisdom is that trees help cool the Earth by absorbing carbon dioxide and giving off moisture that creates clouds. But the report says that is only true for tropical forests. It says some computer models suggest that cutting forests in higher altitudes may reduce global warming.
Saving the environment by destroying it.

well i guess it's a good thing they are clear cutting the shit out of BC then. gotta get those tree's before the pesky pine beetle.
and if they did infact say Siberia, someone listened in a hurry because i'm looking outside and I don't see one friggin tree anywhere. haven't seen a tree or even a plant in over a month.
people just refuse to even consider that maybe, just maybe it's us. for our sake i hope i'm wrong and not you.

Oh comon! There are enough people who assume that this is "our" fault with little evidence to back it up.
Well, I know I've thought about it. Here's something for you to consider:
- The portion of green-house gases that is produced by humans is about 3%.
- CO2 makes up about 1% of all green-house gases in the atmosphere.
- CO2 is one of the least harmful green-house gases. CO2 traps about 10% of the heat that the average green-house gas produces.
The math: 3% x 1% x 10% = .003%
So humans are responsible for 0.003% of global warming.
On the other hand, The UN says that livestock are responsible for more green-house gases than humans. And note, that is the United Nations saying that, they're not exactly GW skeptics.

Oh, and that massive strip-mine that you're working on... how fantastic is THAT going to be for the environment! :)
the strip mine is terrible. so are you admitting that GW does exist then? if you say yes, i won't hold anything against you. i'm not doing anything about it either.
and for some reason my firefox has started displaying all pages in friggin ruski so i can't make out much.

so who is raising all those green-house gas producing livestock & eating them everyday from mcdonalds!? hhhhmmmm?
