The Idiot Brigade
The world of "documentaries" is fast becoming completely irrelevant. The recent revelation about Michael Moore's Roger and Me, Al Gore and his eco-babble in an Inconvenient Truth, are two examples of documentaries gone wrong.
Hollywood is about to hit a whole new low (h/t The Vanguard).
The latest edition of the movie on YouTube can be viewed by clicking here. The sad thing is that Hollywood will perpetrate lies and present it as a "documentary" just to sell movies.
Would it be so damn hard for somebody to actually make a balanced documentary? I mean, it's not like there aren't dissenting views for the opinions presented in these films.

Page Six has learned that Sheen, the hooker-loving Hollywood hunk, has agreed to narrate a new version of the loopy YouTube documentary "Loose Change," which claims that a corrupt faction within the federal government orchestrated the mass murder at the World Trade Center.

There are hundreds of 'balanced' documentaries made every year, just none on the subject of politics. Why? Because it's not possible.
No matter what, when it comes to politics you will have a side yelling 'THIS IS TOTAL BULLSHIT, ANOTHER PROPAGANDA FILM!' Like the very subject of their films, all they really seem to care about is the buck.
If it's so easy, get off your blogger high horse and make one. I'm sure the Canadian government would love to throw some grant money your way if you pitch something. I've seen bigger wastes of money.

You're right, there are plenty of good documentaries made, they just don't get the huge marketing machine put behind them.
But my point remains that these "big budget" documentaries aren't documentaries at all.
As for me making a movie, not gonna happen. It'd end up being only me sitting in front of a white background cursing leftists for 2 hours. Actually, that sounds pretty entertaining!

Also, you're quite right; Hollywood seems to have a strong preference for unbalanced documentaries, and the more Hollywood types laud each new unbalanced (or simply flatly false, such as the one you mentioned featuring Sheen) documentary the most of that type we can expect, unfortunately.
No Matt, thanks you for the valuable content! The problem with Hollywood-types is that they no longer see the line between fiction and reality, it's just a blur.
