Hockey Day In Canada
Really, they should move hockey day in Canada to later in February, and make it a National holiday.
Because it's been so treacherously cold out the last few days, it makes for a perfect Hockey Day in Canada. I've got enough munchies for a week, enough beer to drown a small army, and the good ol' boys coming down to hunker down in front of the TV for the night.
The day's off to a good start, the Ottawa Senators are trouncing the Montreal Habs 4-0 after the first. The big one will be my Canucks against the hated Maple Leafs

Was that not a fantastic third period? I was certainly pleased :-)
Linden is playing like it's 1994. Luongo was stellar.
The Sedins are All-Stars, despite what the official roster may say.
Bieksa looks a lot like Norris.
Wooo!

No kidding! The Canucks are on fire right now and Naslund isn't even helping (yet). I was actually trashing Linden before the game last night for being too old and too slow. I formally withdraw all cheap-shots.
As for Bieksa, he's come so far since his days with the Moose, its almost hard to believe. Two years ago, he wouldn't have even been considered for the Canucks.
I stand by my prediction that they will be winning the Stanley Cup. It's too bad that Bertuzzi had to go, but it's the best move this team has ever made.
And Carlyle should be coaching the Canucks, not the Ducks.
