The Killer Walks

The Canadian Justice system at work.
Stanley Willier, 50, was charged with the second-degree murder of Brenda Moreside, 44.

Her body had been found just inside the door of her High Prairie, Alta., home by police on Feb. 25, 2005 -- 12 days after she called them for help, reportedly saying her husband was breaking into the house.

She had been stabbed to death.
(snip)
Willier, who was arrested the day after Moreside's body was found, had confessed to police, but the judge in the case threw out the confession because investigators didn't do enough to ensure Willier spoke to a lawyer beforehand.

Without the confession, prosecutors said they didn't have enough evidence for a conviction.

I'm going camping today. Gonna spend the next 24 drinking heavily around a fire next to the Whitemouth River. It should be "interesting", to say the least. I'll try to snap some photos of the Igloo. If anybody's looking for some weekend reading material, I'd suggest this piece, which demonstrates how poor the media is when it comes to Global Warming.

And thanks to Global Warming, I can enjoy a balmy winter weekend boozing it up outdoors. Yea!

Comments:
Of course, this same "Global Warming" meant that if you were outdoors for more than 16 minutes at any time in the previous 3 weeks, you would have had the same fate as Brenda Moreside.

As for "Global Warming, I was referring to the good kind, not the bad kind. Everybody knows only communists and vegetarians believe in "bad" global warming.

Plus, the weekend getaway didn't go so well. The Little Red Civic and I spent more than a couple hours in a ditch. The rest will be posted in photo form in a soon-to-come posting.
