More On The Veil

First it was a teacher being asked to remove her veil. Then Jack Straw got into the debate, followed by Tony Blair.

The latest installment in the veil debate comes from none other than the Great Satan itself, the United States.
A judge threw out a Muslim woman's court case against a hire car company because she refused to remove her veil when she testified.

....

Paul Paruk, the district judge, told her that he needed to be able to see her face to gauge whether she was telling the truth.

Which would seem to be the crux of the point. In England, the problem was that school children complained they couldn't understand the teacher through her niqab, and she too refused to remove it (and then sued the government).

I think these ladies need to relax their stance a bit. There was a woman in Florida who sued the State because she didn't want to take off her veil for her drivers license photo. She was soundly defeated (with the full support of the ACLU), as it was regarded as a national security issue.
