World Water Day

I've always laughed at the tree huggers who love to cover the town with flyers promoting some stupid protest (my favorite one was the "Stop Police Violence" protest a few weeks ago).

The flyer I've been seeing around most recently, is for World Water Day, which is tomorrow. Needless to say, these celebrations tend to be focussed on the negatives of the world water supply; like pollution, droughts and all that other sucky stuff.

I would like to focus on some of the more posative developments in the World of Water. The first is this guy Dr. Emoto's work. What Emoto does is not new. He takes highgly magnified pictures of crystalized, frozen water molecules. Dr. Emoto believes that the pattern of the crystals are based on "feelings" and "thoughts" that can be focused at the water, and he can back it up with photographic evidence.

This water crystal was subjected to thoughts of "Love & Gratitude"

This crystal was repeated told "You Make Me Sick"

You can see the stunning differences, and I for one will feel love and gratitude for all of the water I drink. If you go to Emoto's website, he's got a lot more pictures of those water crystals, subjected to different "thoughts and emotions".

Heard enough voodoo? Here's further interesting reads on the subject of water, on this day to celebrate water:
-The Australian details Australia's domestic water management advances.

-Water For Thought trys to explain some of the very recent advances in our understanding of human-water interaction within our own bodies. Apparently the 2003 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was given to some guys who are doing work on how water flows in and out of cells... tres important!

-The World Water Council.

-Attempting to ban international trade of water seems like it would be a bad idea for poor, dry countries around the world.

Don't forget to drink your water today! You just might live forever.
