More Liberal Corruption
You see, I've gotta go back to reading the Winnipeg Sun. The Globe & Mail today had a story on their front page today about some terrorists who "love Canada". It really humanizes the terrorists, and warms your heart to hear things like this. Then you remember that these bastards were holding a Canadian, and 10 other foreigners, hostage at gunpoint in a dank basement in the Gaza Strip. So much for nice.
The thing about the story that first struck me was the huge headline saying "We Love Canada". It was strikingly similar to Paul Martin's election claim:
Good job Paul. Now he's got something in common with terrorists that Stephen Harper doesn't. Thanks for the lip service.
That was intended to lead into this story about further Liberal corruption. This story also ties into my post yesterday about how dirty, rotten, corrupt and biased the Toronto Star is (or this one). George Radwanski is the former editor of the Toronto Star, and he's the worst kind of Liberal. He kissed Liberal Party ass while he worked in the media, then took a plum Liberal Party position under Jean Chretien - and blatantly robbed the Canadian people and government:
Again, it doesn't surprise me that these guys are such crooks. What pisses me off is Canadians who don't care, and don't think they deserve to be punished. It also pisses me off that the Liberal Party managed to hide enough of this kind of garbage under the rug, until after the election. There've been more Liberal Party crimes discovered AFTER they were out of office than when they were in (not exactly shocking).

"This morning I'm told Stephen Harper had a little difficulty saying this, so I'll say it. I love Canada," he said to the cheers of Liberal supporters.

However, among several staffing issues Ms. Fraser's report criticized, it accused Mr. Radwanski of a conflict of interest for hiring his son's girlfriend at an inflated salary to do "legislative monitoring" from Toronto, including during Parliament's summer recess in 2002.
...
The Auditor-General's report said the two payments of $15,000 listed as special travel advances were approved by Mr. Lamarche and concealed from the government's public accounts. The Auditor-General also advised the RCMP that Mr. Radwanski, a former speech writer for prime minister Jean Chrétien and editor of the Toronto Star, regularly took vacation pay in lieu of time, even though he also took several undocumented weeks off.

Humans are inherently "evil," and if you're trying to say that humans in one political party are more evil than another political party, then you're probably relying on your own bias.
Any political party with power will be corrupt. Look no further than the U.S. for an example of a disgustingly corrupt conservative party. There's no reason to think that the Canadian conservatives are any different.
This very blog could be labelled as corrupt, likening the Liberal party to terrorists because of a common 3-word sentence. If you're going to trash the Liberal party, which is an easy thing to do, then at least be objective.

a political party is only as good as how well they can conceal their inborn evil. it's a cliche, but you have to pick the lesser of two evils
nates, call a brother up, been trying to get ahold of you

First of all, stating that all people are "evil" is a total cop-out. Are you implying that people naturally just want to rape and pillage, but are under constant self-restraint? What is the "self" that restrains the so-called "inherant evil" in that same person?
And secondly... I stated in that post that it doesn't surprise me that they're crooks. It's people who think corruption is inevitable, and pull a reverse-behind-the-back-switch to use that argument to defend corruption.
The terrorist comment thing wasn't meant to hammer at the Liberal Party. I wrote that because it was the first thing that came into my brain when I read the headline, and it made me laugh.
