Viva La Revolution!

This my nomination thus far for paper-cover-of-the-year

I think I've ranted about this before, but what the hell is wrong with the Networks for not putting the Green Party in the fucking national debates? I can understand if the French-language debates were to have the Bloc instead of the Green Party participating, but for the english-language debate, damnit the Green Party should be there!

Realisitically, Duceppe shouldn't be included in the english debates. His platform has nothing to do with anything outside of Quebec. There aren't any Bloc candidates outside of Quebec. So why the hell are they force feeding his non-sensical English to the rest of the country?

The Green party is the only party in this country that has had steady growth over the last several years. They're platform is environment based, and by the next election, will be a much bigger "topic" in people's minds. If they don't get a seat this election, they will next time for sure. But they should be featured on the English debates rather than the Bloc. FAIR IS FAIR.

Gilles Duceppe does have the easiest job of all the party leaders however. The guy gets to use a one-track platform: "what's good for Quebec". Can you imagine if Paul Martin would be able to campaign on what's "good for Ontario". The election would be a friggin' landslide! Thats the beauty of being in Duceppe's position. Its mathematically impossible for the guy to win the election. He never ever ever ever ever has to worry about fulfilling any of his campaign promises.

Its somewhat similar to Jack Layton's position. He can just promise the world, because he knows he won't win a majority government, and be held accountable for those promises.... but they do look good when you read 'em in the paper. The future for the NDP is bright however, so I think that in future years they will need to come up with a real platform, with real economic plans, and it'll be a gooder.
