Choking Liberals

Between December 22nd and January 3rd, Liberal support has dropped approximately 6% in the polls. During the same period of time, Conservative support has risen 7%. Thats friggin' awesome.

Paul Martin thought he could just ride through the election, without saying anything of substance. He figured people were too scared to support Conservatives, and thought he'd win by default again. DEAD WRONG. Essentially 6% of Liberal supporters in a 2 week period have bailed on Martin, and have started to listen to the message that Harper is putting out there, instead of focusing on how "scary" he is. I think the only person left who's actually scared of Stephen Harper, is Paul Martin - and he probably should be.

So now Paul Martin is left with a fractured base, and worse yet, no platform. Theres only 3 weeks of campaigning left, and I don't see how he can swing the momentum back in his favour. He's a lame-duck, he's done, and I'm glad to see he'll be out. Stephen Harper is 10 times the man Paul Martin ever will be, and FINALLY, the rest of Canada is starting to figure out what I've been saying all along.

Speaking of momentum, did anybody else read this editorial in the Winnipeg Sun? Quite shocking, that even in Canada, our government has allowed warrantless wiretapping of Canadians. I know, I'm more paranoid than everybody who reads this combined, but this kinda shit worries me. The Minister of Defense says the word, and your ass is grass (btw - 2 pts to anyone who can name the current Minister of Defense without Google).

Anyway, Paul Martin's as good as out. Stephen Harper's as good as in. It's time this country saw some real LEADERSHIP. The only question left to ask yourself is: how long with Harper's minority gov't last? But then again, with the momentum going in Harpers favour still, maybe it won't be a minority.
